Pre-launch WordPress readiness

Assign these items before launch day so access, content, plugins, and ownership are clear.

  • Final approver and launch scope are named.
  • WordPress admin access is granted through a safe invitation path.
  • Hosting, registrar, and DNS owners are identified.
  • Final content, images, menus, footer links, and legal pages are approved.
  • Plugin and theme license ownership is confirmed.
  • Form routing, CRM connection, spam protection, and notification owners are confirmed.
  • Redirect map covers changed pages, removed pages, posts, and taxonomy archives.
  • Backup, restore, rollback, and launch-window contacts are documented.

Launch-day WordPress checks

  • Fresh database and file backup is taken before deployment.
  • Staging locks, maintenance mode, and noindex settings are removed only from production.
  • DNS, SSL, canonical host, and HTTPS behavior are verified.
  • Homepage, priority pages, navigation, footer, search, and conversion paths are tested.
  • Every production form is submitted and received in the correct place.
  • Priority redirects, sitemap, robots.txt, canonicals, and Search Console are checked.
  • Page cache, object cache, CDN cache, and plugin cache are purged.
  • Named approver approves launch or records exact blockers.

  • Uptime, SSL, DNS, cache behavior, forms, and analytics are monitored.
  • Search Console coverage, sitemap discovery, indexing, and crawl errors are reviewed.
  • High-value redirects and 404 logs are checked.
  • Temporary users are removed or permissions are reduced.
  • Plugin, theme, core update, backup, and security ownership is confirmed.
  • Known exceptions and post-launch fixes have owners and deadlines.
  • Client receives production URL, support process, and approval record.
